What's Your Favorite?

Author Laurel Snyder asked of the blogosphere, "What is your favorite book from childhood?"

The dearest book in the whole, wide world to me is "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. By age eleven, I was proud to say that I had read it eleven times. I love that children never tire of good things, like songs and games and stories.

I also loved "On Beyond Zebra" by Dr. Seuss, "Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day," and "Too Much Noise."

One of my favorites was a book called "Katerina and the Box."

Also, anything by Seuss, especially if it was read to me by my mom. She does great voices.

I think the first book in The Chronicles gets so much attention because the story is simple and complete, in and of itself. It doesn't need an introduction or much study.

I know about Alexander and his bad day. Read that as a kid for sure. My favorite would have to be though "Where the wild things are"

I think I'd have to ditto "Lion" too. Another I read over and over was "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever". I cannot wait to read all my favorite books to Violet someday. She WILL love them. :)
